About Me

Mike Brasovan

I was born in Florida in 1970, to a Tennessee-born mother and Missouri-born father. My father served in the Navy in Korea, and was the oldest son of my immigrant grandfather. Unfortunately, my father made the choice to leave my mother when I was about 2 years-old and my brother was 4½. I would never live with my father again, and only see him for a handful of days before he passed away. My mother, without a college degree, worked hard for an oil company, and, after several moves, brought our family to the great state of Texas in 1979. It is by her example that my older brother and I learned to work hard and make our way, along with a lot of grace from the Lord.

I grew up in Houston, graduating from high school in 1988 and then Texas A&M University in 1993 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (emphasis on Energy Systems). Immediately after graduating, I went to work in Austin as an energy consultant. That same year I married my beautiful bride, Karen. We have two children, 13 year-old Michael and 12-year-old Rachael.

In 2001, a job change to a national engineering firm brought us to Parker County. Two years later, after a lot of prayer, I started my own firm, THG Energy and Technology Solutions. Within 4 years, the company grew and began leasing office space in Weatherford, and now has six employees and an office in Fort Worth.

Over the past several years I have become more involved in the local Republican Party, including working as an election judge on multiple occasions, being elected as a delegate to the County and State conventions in 2006 and 2008, and serving as an alternate delegate to the national convention in 2008. Most recently, I have been working with several others to form the Parker County Young Republicans.

My family and I attend Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, where I have been a volunteer Sunday school teacher. I am a man that values my relationship with Jesus Christ, and I hope you will see that reflected in my desire to be a servant leader to the citizens of Congressional District 12.

I hope this gives you some insight into my life. If you want to meet in person, be sure to check out the News & Events or visit my Facebook page to find out about the different meetings and events I'll be attending. Thanks for your time.
