National Defense

One of the few functions of the federal government specified in our Constitution is national defense.

I will probably never be able to express my gratitude for the sacrifice made by the men and women of our armed forces to protect the freedoms that we have, and they should have our full support. For a Congressional representative, that translates into legislative action that will:

  • Ensure that the members of our armed forces have the equipment and systems necessary to do their jobs.
  • Pay our service men and women a living wage throughout their enlistment.
  • Make sure they have what is necessary to transition back to civilian life once deployments have ended.
  • Set distinct, near- and long-term goals for any necessary use of our armed forces around the world.
  • Support our soldiers spiritually by continuing to provide chaplains in all branches of the armed services.
